SPINNING OFF IN STYLE!
What do Patrice Vinci, Rhoda, and Maude have in common? They're spinoffs. Vinci, who's been something of a stylist to the stars at Avanti, has opened her own shop. "(Avanti owner), Stephen Iacobacci spun off his main character," said Vinci, who's clients have included Ellen Pompeo, Stephen Baldwin, and Tipper Gore. She is working with Dean Mellen, who's worked on Janice Dickinson, Roseanne Barr and Paula Abdul.

POSITIVE SPIN
We're suckers for a good spin-off: Laguna Beach begat The Hills and Beverly Hills" 90210 turned into, well, 90210. Now Boston has Patrice Vinci for Avanti Salon. Nestled between March Jacobs and Ralph Lauren, Vinci's first solo space - a smaller more refined version of the beloved Avanti Salon, where she cut and coiffed for more than five years - has some familiar faces holding the scissors. Trillium Salon owner Eddy Foley, fellow Trillium alum Larry Hamilton, and former Avanti stylists Tara Meola and Jao Sores, among others; also expect cameos from bicoastal bangs pro Dean Mellen, plus Rob Martelli, who'll commute from the John Dellaria Salon in New York City. Stay tuned: we just might have a hit on our hands.

SHOOTING STARS Patrice Vinci for Avanti opens
Psst! Did you see Mel Gibson at Abe & Louies last night?
See him? I practically sat on his lap.
Been hanging out with celebs of late? You'll need the good locks to match, at Patrice Vinci Salon you get red-carpet worthy hair all year-round.
Vinci, a former Avanti Salon vet, and her staff are bringing Hollywood flair to our historically stodgy town (she's been known to work with a hometown star or two). And to look like a million you don't have to spend it: Haircuts start at just $60.
For that messy starlet, I wake-up-like-this-every-morning look, ask for the signature Twist and Blow before your next event.
Just incase you need a little star power.
